Welcome to Cart Dr., your trusted destination for golf carts in Theodore, Alabama, and the greater Mobile area. Since 2011, we’ve been the local experts for all things golf carts, offering sales of new and used carts, service and repairs, rentals, accessories, battery replacements, customization, financing, and convenient pickup and delivery. Whether you need reliable maintenance or a fully customized ride, Cart Dr. delivers quality and dependable service every time.

Founded by Art Slack as a family business, Cart Dr. originally partnered with the University of South Alabama and Springhill Medical Center to provide campus transportation solutions. In 2013, Darren and Tricia Slack took over, bringing renewed focus on customer care and growth. Tricia, a retired nurse, oversees daily operations and customer experience, while Darren leads the service center and custom cart builds.

Over the years, we’ve seen golf carts become much more than a vehicle for the course—they’re a lifestyle. Families, neighborhoods, businesses, and event organizers rely on golf carts for fun and convenient transportation. Today, Cart Dr. proudly supports local events, campus tours, medical facilities, and community initiatives across the Gulf Coast.

Our Story

About Cart Dr. in Mobile, Alabama

Cart Dr. was originally started as a small business by Art Slack. The business partnered with University of South Alabama and the Springhill Medical Center to provide golf carts for easy campus/facility transportation. Over the years the business has built a strong presence among the Mobile community but wanted to grow their reputation.
Darren and Tricia Slack, son and daughter-in-law to the owner, were living in Phoenix, Arizona when the opportunity arose for them to acquire the business and help it grow. Both now retired and looking for a more exciting employment atmosphere, jumped on the opportunity to be a part of the growing business.
In April of 2013, the couple purchased the business and has loved every minute since. Tricia, a retired nurse, is very organized and detail oriented. She works with the customers and oversees most of the business operations. Her husband Darren is hands-on with the service center and customization of the golf carts. Both work closely together making the business a growing success.

Over the past year Tricia and Darren cannot get over just how many people are interested in golf carts. Tricia and Darren truly enjoy interacting with everyone who comes into the dealership. They have met people from all over the Gulf Coast and found golf carts are not just for golfers. Parents and grandparents buy golf carts to have fun with children and make lasting memories. Something about the ride on the golf cart is timelessly fun for everyone.

Today, the Cart Dr. continues working with USA and Springhill Medical Center to provide golf cart transportation at Football games, for campus tours and transportation throughout the Medical Center facility. The team at Cart Dr. is active in the community, having just designed a customized cart for the Breast Cancer Awareness walk, which takes place every year at the end of October in downtown Mobile. As Cart Dr. continues to grow throughout the community, it also looks forward to building lasting relationships with the people who come to the dealership. Cart Dr. is a family business and they want the Gulf Coast community to be a part of that family.

I first went to Cart Dr. With my 2015 Yamaha gas golf cart for repairs some time back. They were quick to repair it. It had the wrong starter belt on it. A quick fix at a reasonable price. They have a very knowledgeable shop crew. Well a week ago I bought a new Yamaha Drive 2. What an amazing difference from my old cart. Trisha gave me a great deal and had just the cart I wanted.
